Journey to Kayon Mountain:
Embark on a taste expedition with this Organic Grade 1 coffee, harvested from the distinguished Kayon Mountain farm in the Guji zone of Ethiopia's Shakiso district. Owned by Esmael Hassen, the farm has dedicated 300 of its 500 hectares solely to coffee cultivation. The beans, a pure Ethiopian Heirloom variety, thrive at altitudes ranging from 1900 to 2200 masl.
Post-harvest, cherries undergo a meticulous process. They are machine pulped, then fermented for a duration spanning 24 to 36 hours. Ensuring a perfect dry, the beans are set on African beds, left to nature’s care for 12 to 20 days. The farm operates one washing station and a dry huller within the Shakiso District and collaborates closely with its sister company in the Guji/Kercha District, which houses two washing stations and a dry huller. Each facility is deeply committed to producing and exporting traceable, high-quality coffee.
