A Glimpse into Nariño:
Nestled in the southern tip of Colombia, touching Ecuador and the vast Pacific, Nariño boasts a prime position just slightly north of the equator. This geography gifts it with some of the highest-grown coffee globally, benefiting from altitudes perfect for a languid maturation of coffee cherries, leading to an intensified sugar development.
Our cherished offering from the Juanambú Canyon has been sourced hand-in-hand with Lohas Beans. The canyon, with its verdant expanses, has been graced by the presence of six volcanoes, enriching its soil with minerals that accentuate the growth of Nariño's distinguished coffees. The majority of Nariño's coffee producers are smallholders, managing minuscule plots of one to two hectares, perched precariously on challenging terrains.
This exquisite microlot represents the dedication of 123 smallholders from the Buesaco and Arboleda Berruecos areas, their lands stretching between the elevations of 1700 to 2200 masl. As the backbone of Nariño's economy, these farmers hold a deep commitment to refining the quality and yield of their harvests, tapping into the limitless potential of this remarkable region.
